About Expression Engine

  1. Expression Engine allows you to manage your website content without any specialized technical web development knowledge. Working with Expression Engine should feel similar to working with a word processor.

Logging Into the Admin tool

  1. You must be on the campus network in order to log into your expression engine site. You’ll need to access the campus VPN (virtual private network) if you need to access the site admin from off campus. IT Services provides instructions about setting up a VPN.

  2. Go to sitename.uchicago.edu/admin/

  3. Enter your cnet id and password.

  4. Click Submit

Reset your Password

  1. Log into Expression Engine

  2. Click on the link labeled ‘Members’ at the top of the page

  3. Select your username from the list of site members

  4. Click on ‘Username and Password’ from the ‘Personal Settings’ list

  5. Enter and verify a new password, using your current password to confirm the change. IT services provides some suggestions for choosing a secure password.
