Attend the Black Grad Coalition's Annual Georgiana Rose Simpson Seminar. Georgiana Rose Simpson was the first Black woman to ever receive a PhD in the United States, graduating with her doctorate in German from UChicago in 1921. The seminar will feature a keynote lecture by Damon Jones, Assistant Professor in the Harris School of Public Policy, whose research is at the intersection of public finance, household finance, and behavioral economics. Jones has also served on the Joe Biden presidential transition Agency Review Team and supported transition efforts related to the Council of Economic Advisors.
