Students of Color Network - Down Time: On the Art of Retreat

Nov. 7

5:00–7:00 pm
Smart Museum of Art
5550 S. Greenwood Ave.

The Office of the Provost and the Office of Multicultural Student Affairs host quarterly gatherings across campus to learn more about the various resources–intellectual, artistic, and cultural– available to students of color at the University. In Autumn Quarter, we will tour the Smart Museum of Art’s newest exhibit, Down Time: On the Art of Retreat. This student-curated exhibit asks the questions: Where can we turn when we need space and time away? What do those spaces look like, and how do we create them? Who has access? And can we ever really get away, even for a little while? Please join us for an evening of community, art, and discussion. Dinner in Baker Dining Commons will follow. Please note that this event is open to UChicago students of color.
