Good Vibes on Garfield: L1 Outdoor Summer Arts Marketplace

Jun. 25

12:00–7:00 pm
L1 Retail Store, 319 E. Garfield Blvd.

Arts + Public Life's (APL) first summer outdoor arts marketplace will be hosted at the L1 Creative Business Accelerator + Retail Shop patio. This new, single-day outdoor summer arts marketplace will showcase unique artwork and products made primarily by South Side artists and creative entrepreneurs. The outdoor summer arts marketplace will also provide a space for local creative entrepreneurs to present and sell their work without being charged any fees, allowing all proceeds to go directly into the pockets of participating vendors.

This initiative is part of APL's creative entrepreneurship programmatic activities, including the L1 Creative Business Acceleration program, launched in 2020, with retail stores housing three South Side-based, Black-owned businesses on the Arts Block inside of the historic first "L" station built in 1892 along historic Garfield Boulevard in Washington Park, operated and managed by Arts + Public Life, an initiative of UChicago Arts.
