The Hispanic-LatinX Resource Group from the University of Chicago presents a panel discussion to highlight the voices of Heroes of Color who have bravely served our nation. Join Mel Leadingham, a leader of HLX and United States Marine Corp Veteran, as she explains the history of Memorial Day and its differences from other holidays which honor our servicemembers. Mel will be joined by Terrell Odom, US Navy Veteran, Arturo Segura Jr, USMC Veteran, and Alison E Lee, US Army Veteran. The speakers will share about their experiences of serving and serving as a person of color. Contributors to the event include the University of Chicago's Office for Military-Affiliated Communities.
