Mar. 28

11:00 am–12:00 pm
Zoom

Diversity Dialogues are designed to bring together individuals from across the University to learn about and act upon issues related to diversity and inclusion. This session, titled Centering Black Lives in Chicago's Archives, will feature Marcia Walker-McWilliams, a public historian and the Executive Director of the Black Metropolis Research Consortium (BMRC), a Chicago-based membership association of libraries, universities, museums, and cultural heritage organizations founded at the University of Chicago in 2006.

This session will explore how the BMRC helps expand knowledge of and engagement with Chicago's rich and complex Black history and culture. Following the presentation, attendees will engage in small group discussions. All members of the UChicago community are invited to attend. For more information, please contact Sarah C. Willis at swillis80@uchicago.edu.
