Diversity Dialogues are monthly sessions designed to bring together individuals from across the University to learn about and act upon issues related to diversity and inclusion. This session will feature Terrell Odom, Associate Director of the Office for Military-Affiliated Communities (OMAC). Odom's presentation, Green Zone, will help participants learn to create an environment that is conducive for military-affiliated persons to pursue their educational and career goals at the University of Chicago. OMAC intends to meet this objective by increasing awareness, support, resources, engagement, partnerships, and programming throughout the University.
Odom is a U.S. Navy veteran and is responsible for developing and coordinating efforts and specialized programs for the University’s military-affiliated communities, including undergraduate, graduate and professional students, faculty, staff, and all of their respective families. He works closely with campus partners on applicable University policies and procedures, throughout all divisions at the University.
Odom received his Bachelor of Science from DeVry University, an MBA from American Military University, an MPA from the Keller Graduate School of Management, a Masters of Online Teaching and Certification for Online Learning Administration from the University of Illinois at Springfield, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Administration from Chicago State University. He is currently completing his portfolio for a Master of Science in Instructional Design and Technology from Western Illinois University.
Note that participants must register using a UChicago.edu email address. This session will be captioned and recorded, and will be available to those who cannot attend the live session. For more information, please contact diversityinclusion@uchicago.edu.
