2:00–3:00 pm
Zoom
This pedagogical session focuses on elements of accessibility and inclusion that are relevant to teaching and learning. It includes a prerecorded video presentation followed by a synchronous Zoom discussion.
The aims of this workshop are to:
- Understand the importance of making your pedagogical practice accessible and inclusive
- Introduce a universal approach to teaching
- Introduce best practices in inclusive teaching practices
- Provide a space for educators to ask questions, share strategies, and consider different ways to meet this pedagogical challenge
This is not a technical training, but rather a forum for discussing issues of pedagogy and inclusion. Resources for creating a more accessible and inclusive learning environment will be shared. Please register at least 24 hours in advance. Registrants will receive access to a Canvas site in advance of the workshop, which will provide access to brief pre-workshop activities and other resources.
The workshop is open to faculty, course instructors, lecturers, and graduate teaching assistants. It will be led by Regina Dixon-Reeves, Assistant Provost, and Charnessa Warren, Director of Student Disability Services.
