2021 Artists-in-Residence Virtual Welcome Event + Artist Talk

Feb. 17

6:00–7:00 pm
Online event

Arts + Public Life (APL) and the Center for the Study of Race, Politics, and Culture (CSRPC) invite you to join us as we formally welcome the 2021 Artists-in-Residence cohort with an engaging conversation moderated by C. Riley Snorton, CSRPC Interim Faculty Director, and Adrienne Brown, APL Interim Faculty Director. 2021 resident artists Zakkiyyah Najeebah Dumas-O'Neal, A.J. McClenon, and Lola Ogbara will also be joined by predecessor 2019/20 resident Ben LaMar Gay to collectively reflect on their artist experiences in the midst of a global pandemic and racial reckoning. This open discussion will create an opportunity for the 2021 residents to introduce themselves and their practices, while also creating space to share their ambitions for their time in residence on the Arts Block in the Washington Park community.
